This article describes how to create a special Rating scale for use in an Evolution question (one or more EPA questions).

Find the Rating scale menu

  • Go to Evaluation forms / Rating scales


A window will open that contains a list of the Rating scales that are in the system. You can see;


  1. what ID they have (important to have, if you plan to import Evaluation questions)
  2. When they were created
  3. Whether they are editable or not (depending on whether they are already linked to an Evaluation Question or not)


  • Click the button, Create new



Skapa en Rating scale

  • Fyll i namnet under Name (typ EPA version 1)
  • Type Ordinal eller Interval, välj Ordinal


Notis: 

An ordinal variable is one where the order matters but not the difference between values.

An interval variable is one where the difference between two values is meaningful.


Create a Rating Scale

  • Fill in the name under Name (type EPA version 1)
  • Type Ordinal or Interval, select Ordinal

  • Select Response mode: Discrete categories
  • Then add Categories (located under List of Options). Press the + Add button under Categories
  • For each new Category, press the + Add button (use the list at the end of the article)
  • If you want to move the order, you grab the handle with three lines and pull up / down.
  • If you want to include Headings, you can turn it on on the gear icon. Headings means that the text is only visible when you hover over the category, ie only visible when you want to read the entire text.
  • When all categories have been entered, click the Save button.


Create points


  • Click the gear icon and select Edit numeric value
  • Enter points for the different steps
  • Press the Save button (if you did everything else according to the article above)



Note: You can print the entire description, but as an alternative, for it to work on mobile and other mobile devices, you can write an abbreviation and put the entire text as a "mouseover".
